THE ODELL TRUST

OVERVIEW:

The Odell Centre is a Social, Recreational and Leisure Day Activity Centre based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. We work with adults who have a learning disability or mental health issue.

Due to retirement, we are currently recruiting for 3 roles within the Odell Centre.

ACTIVITY CO-ORDINATOR

FULL-TIME

Due to the nature of the activities, the post holder will be required to work at the Odell Centre for 35 hours per week Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm. However, there will be an expectation for the successful candidate to be flexible and undertake occasional weekend and evening work as required.

The successful candidate will require a current full driving licence to include entitlement to drive a minibus with up to 16 passenger seats (D1 on driving licence).

The key requirements will include:-

Plan and deliver activities to members in conjunction with Personal Development Plan outcomes. The main (but not exclusive) areas of activity involvement will be arts & crafts, pottery, sewing, knitting and weaving, pamper/beauty, jewellery making and costume design & making to support Odell Centre drama productions.

Additional practical skills in delivery areas of music, dance and drama sessions will be most welcome, but are not essential to the role.

Complete tasks and necessary paperwork to a satisfactory standard and within agreed timescales

Carry out Personal Development Plan meetings with members

Drive minibus and crew cab to transport members to external activities

Assess and encourage members’ participation in activities and document outcomes

Ability to use basic computer packages.

You will also be expected to help out as and when required on a wide range of other activities delivered to our members.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS NOT A CARE WORKER OR SUPPORT WORKER ROLE

Salary: £20,493 per annum

Annual Leave: 36 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holiday)

Position Type: Full-Time (Permanent)


CLEANER/LUNCHTIME SUPERVISOR

PART-TIME

The working hours will be 11.00 am – 2.00 pm (3 hours per day) Monday – Friday. With the additional opportunity to provide absence and holiday cover for our Cleaner in the afternoon, which on those occasions may involve working a split shift.

The key responsibilities will include

Lunchtime supervision

Assist in the serving of lunch to our members

Cleaning of toilets and touch points throughout the Centre (11.00 am and 1.15 pm)

Availability to work extra hours to cover absence and holiday cover for the cleaner

Record keeping

Salary: £17842 per annum / pro rata 35 hrs

Holiday: 36 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays)

Position Type: Part-Time (Permanent)

KITCHEN HAND

PART-TIME

The working hours will be 8.45 am – 2.45 pm (6 hours per day) Monday – Friday on alternative weeks. Absence and holiday cover will be required, which will require you to work more than 1 week in a row during these times.

The key responsibilities will include

Prepare and serve drinks both at morning and lunch break

Wash and dry up (kitchen pots, utensils, crockery, cutlery) and ensure proper storage

Ensure food preparation areas and equipment are clean and hygienic

Assist in the preparation of food as directed by the Cook

Serving lunch to members

Lunchtime supervision

Assist in stock taking, storage of stock, unloading deliveries and stock rotation

Absence cover for both Cook and Senior Kitchen Assistant, which may on occasion require cooking duties

Available to work at short notice

Record keeping

Ability to work and remain calm while under pressure in a busy kitchen environment

Knowledge of food hygiene and safety requirements in a commercial kitchen environment

Salary: £17842 per annum / pro rata 35 hrs

Holiday: 18 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
